History of the Geelong Environment Council Inc.

The Geelong Environment Council Inc. was formed in 1972 to assist in the protection of the environment in and around Geelong.

Issues in which GEC Inc. has been involved include:

'Save the Otways' campaign and National Park protection
Protection of Point Lillias from a proposed relocation of the Coode Island Chemical Storage Facility
Industrial discharges and pollution
Corio Bay issues
Coastal and Marine issues
